Each Member commits to donating $100 per meeting, four times a year. Meetings are diligently conducted in one hour or less.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Any member who has signed a Commitment Form and who is current with her donations may submit a Charity Nomination Form to nominate an organization for consideration at a meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

The nominating members or a representative of three randomly selected organizations will make a five minute presentation about the organization to the group and a Q&A session will follow.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Each member who has signed a Commitment Form and who is current with her donations may vote (by ballot) for one of the three organizations.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Each member will write a cheque for $100 to the organization receiving the most votes.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

The selected organization will receive a group donation of $10,000 or more!<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Members who did not vote for the selected organization agree to make their donation regardless.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Members will receive a tax receipt directly from the organization within 2 weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Organizations under consideration must serve the Peterborough area and provide individual tax receipts directly to contributing members.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

An organization not selected at one meeting may be submitted again at a subsequent meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

A successful organization is not eligible for future consideration for 3 years but the nominating member may submit the name of another organization.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

Ties will be decided by further votes. If a tie persists, the membership will vote to either (1) randomly select one of the tied organizations by draw; or (2) divide the group donation equally between the tied organizations.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”3px”]

The organizers of the meeting will collect the names of the organizations from the members as they arrive. At random, three organizations will be selected from the hat. The nominating members or a representative of the organization will be asked to come up and give a short 5 minute presentation as to why the nominated organization should receive the donation and then spend another 5 minutes for Q & A. We encourage members to participate by submitting the names of local, needy, charitable organizations![\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

\n\t\t[vc_column_text]In order to be considered at a meeting, the organization must be based in the Peterborough area and it must be a registered not-for-profit or charitable organization eligible to provide tax receipts for donations. It must be previously established (no start-ups). No national or international charities, programs or organizations will be considered at this time as the current focus is on contributing to our local community. An organization that is selected for the group donation may not be considered again. The exception is a specific program within a large organization (for example a specific department or program within a hospital), which may be considered again after one year for a different program or department. Any member wishing to submit a charitible organization for consideration must complete our online Charity Nomination Form at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

Cheques are written directly to the charitable organization and NOT to 100 Women Peterborough. We want to be able to support this endeavour and give $10,000+ dollars at a time to make a large impact in our community with each member\u2019s donation being part of the larger donation. This is the power of joining forces! We also need to be able to track your donations so that you get credit for the donation and remain eligible for submitting charities and voting at meetings.[\/vc_column_text]\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>
